​January 2010
- 1st. Robin wakes up hungover after drinking a whole bottle of scotch and declares she's never drinking again. Needless to say this didn't last. [612 False Positive]​

- Ted dates a student named Cindy. They break up after Cindy realises he's in love with her roommate Tracy, which surprises Tracy as they'd never met. On his way out of Tracy & Cindy's apartment Ted leaves the yellow umbrella behind. Cindy realises that she has feelings for Tracy too. Tracy is completely suprised when her yellow umbrella, which she lost nearly two years ago suddenly returns to her. [512 Girls versus Suits, 916 How Your Mother Met Me.]

- By this point the Robin drinking game "But...umm" has become popular among college students. [513 Jenkins]
- Barney has a perfect week, sleeping with seven women in 7 days. [514 Perfect Week]​
February 2010​
- 7th. Barney goes to the Superbowl and holds up his phone number. For the next week he is overwhelmed with phone calls. [515 Rabbit or Duck. In reality the 2010 Super Bowl happened on this day.]
- 14th. Valentines Day, By this point Trudy from The Pineapple incident has now married and Carol (aka "Blah Blah") has been committed to Bellevue Hospital. [515 Rabbit or Duck]​
March 2010
 - Robin & Don go on their super date. [Stated to be March 2010, 517 Of Course]​

- Barney goes out with a self-help writer, Anita, and after throwing himself in the Hudson river in order to resist her to fulfill a promise he made to Robin he tells a police officer the story of why he did it. [517 Of Course]​

- Lily's 32nd birthday. Ted brings a girl (Amanda) to the party which annoys Lily. [518 Say Cheese]​
April 2010
- Marshall is mugged in Central Park. Possibly by a monkey. Only Marshall himself knows the truth. [519 Zoo Or False]​

- Teds mother gets married to Clint and at the wedding Barney cries at Clints song then claims it was Robin. [520 Home Wreckers]​​

- After the wedding Ted is not seen for three days. When he returns he announces that he has bought a house, which is still owns as of 2030. [520 Home Wreckers]​​

May 2010
- Robin moves in with Don. [521 Twin Beds]
- Barney, Marshall & Lily go to Robots vs. Wrestlers and see Teds doppleganger. The event would become a regular event for the gang. [522 Robots vs. Wrestlers]
- The Wedding Bride movie is released and becomes the fifth highest grossing movie of all time. [523 The Wedding Bride]
- Robin is offered a lead anchor job in Chicago, but turns it down to be with Don. Don is offered the same job and takes it and the two break up. [524 Dopplegangers]

Between May-September 2010
- Robin tries to seduce Ted but he is easily able to resist her. [601 Big Days]​

July 2010

- 23rd. Robin's birthday. Her father calls her and tells her she's a huge disappointment, but Robin's just happy he remembered her birthday. [As of January 2011 this was the last time Robin had spoken to her dad according to 614 Last Words. Her birthday was established in 503 Robin 101].
September 2010
- Barneys mother moves house and the gang helps her. [602 Cleaning House]​

- Barneys brother James meets his father, Sam Gibbs, for the first time. [602 Cleaning House]​
October 2010
- Goliath National Bank re-hires Ted to design their new headquarters building. [603 Unfinished]​

- Ted meets Zoey, who is protesting against the destruction of The Arcadian building. [605 Architect of Destruction]
- By this point the gangs friends, Claudia & Stuart, have had a baby girl named Esther. [606 Baby Talk]

- Robin has a new co-anchor at Come On, Get Up New York! named Becky, who Ted briefly dates. [606 Baby Talk]
- 31st. Ted and the gang (minus Robin) attend the GNB office Halloween party. [607 Canning Randy]​
November 2010
- 1st. Robin spends the day filming a TV ad for adult diapers. [607 Canning Randy]​

- 9th. The gang attend the 133rd Annual Natural History Museum Autumn Spectacular and meet Zoe's husband The Captain (George Van Smoot). [608 Natural History]​

- Barney discovers that the man he thought was his uncle Jerry was actually his father. [608 Natural History]​

- Adam "Punchy" Punciarello, Teds high school friend invites him to be best man at his wedding. [609 Glitter]​

- 25th. Ted hosts Thanksgiving and makes a turturkeykey, the gang spends the holiday with Zoey and Steve "The Blitz" Henry who temporarily passes his curse to Ted and Barney before getting it back again. [610 Blitzgiving]​

December 2010

- Zoey invites the gang to a Frank Lloyd Wright architecture retrospective and ends up going with just Ted. [611 The Mermaid Theory]​

- Robin cooks dinner for Zoe and the gang but accidentally burns it so they have to have hot dogs instead. Ted passes a bottle of ketchup to Zoe, but she drops it when their hands touch. As an apology Zoe agrees to set Ted up with her hot cousin. [615 Oh Honey. The exact placement in the timeline of this event is difficult but it definitely occurs after the events in 611 but before the death of Marshall's dad]

- Lily and Marshall get a false positive on a pregnancy test. [612 False Positive]​

- Robin starts a new job as an associate researcher at World Wide News. [612 False Positive]​

Sometime In 2010
- Jefferson Coatsworth, Marshall's former boss at law firm Nicholson, Hewitson & West is arrsted. [Three years after 306 I'm Not That Guy]

- Three years after they break up Ted runs into his ex-girlfriend Kathy and her deaf fiance Daniel. [Three years after 308 Spoiler Alert]​
